Whew! What a busy week!!! Thanksgiving at Ginger's was a great success! Mark arrived first from Augusta, then Webb from Peachtree City, followed by Nancy Hefferman from Tybee Island, then Liz and Bill from Venice, FL. Before they arrived I was able to get leaves up and everything outside looking good. Ginger got the inside looking good (had the most work getting baths, bedding and dust/vacuuming done!). Then Thursday morning Laurel arrived with a friend, Mandy.
Webb did himself proud in cooking sweet potatoes with bananas and rum, Mom's dressing and Creoled eggs. We were able to get everybody (all nine of us) around the dining room table for one of the best Thanksgiving meals I have ever had.
after dinner and later that evening, Mark, Laurel, Mandy and Webb got into a chess tournament (I understand 19 year old Mandy beat everybody!), while some of the adults watched a 3 and half hour Stephen King movie with a lot of killing. While to older adults retired for the evening around 11:00pm, the younger ones were up much later watching a Tom Hanks movie, The Road to Perdition".
Friday, Cath, Rick and Ben arrived followed shortly by rain which prevented much range shooting, but Rick and I got to shoot Ginger's 352 Magnum pistol, with Rick hitting the target and Me missing. Ben was able to do some shooting with his pellet gun and Rick also hit the target with the pellet gun.
Ginger was so pleased with the Sanderson portions that were able to visit! She keeps remarking how nice the family the behaves. Hats off to all of you!
Ginger and I went to Jekyll Island around 10:00am Saturday, Bill and Liz departed at 9:00am, Webb and Nancy, Rick and Cath, Mark and Laurel and Mandy all left during the day Friday. The Jekyll Ride was a great success, had 104 people compared to 28 last year and people really enjoyed the Festival, particularly the snow making. Ginger and I left the Festival early, went back to the hotel and cleaned up then went to Blackbeard's Restaurant and enjoyed some real good fresh seafood.
Took Ginger home and I returned to Rincon about 3:00pm today to an empty refrigerator, a pile of mail (including another two registrations for January Florida Trail Tour), 100rds of eMails and a dusty needs vacuuming house!
This week I have a lot of things to do before I return to Ginger's Thursday before we leave for Charleston Friday for the Rural Ride Around the Islands 3 day bike ride.

Had a good trip to Florida. Helped George Cheney with his Horrible Hundred Ride, loaded food, water and supplies for 800 riders, he had over 900, but enough of everything.
Chris Trangas and I ended up riding only 24 miles, because he cable to the rear derailer broke and she couldn't climb the hills around Clermont. So, we cycled around the lake twice and out a rail to trails trail from Clermont.
Was able to finish all the details for the Florida Trails Tours for January and February. Rode a portion of Suncoast Trail drove a portion of it, as well as, drove the Nature Coast Trail and Gainesville-Hawthorne Trail adjacent roads to determine pick up points for riders who cannot peddle the whole trail.
Visited hotel, restaurants and bike shop that we will be using to make sure all is ready.
Had four registration forms for Florida Tours in the mail when I returned. Have several more who have called and say they plan to register, but haven't got checks from them yet. Have BICYCLING MAGAZINE classified ad in next issue which may get some response.
Will go to Ginger's on Monday for the week. Webb and Nancy will be there Wednesday, as well as Mark Albertin, Laurel Albertin, Liz and Bill (Ginger's sister from Venice, FL and her boy friend), Rick and Cath may come for the day on Friday. Ginger and I go to Jekyll Island Saturday and she will help me implement the Jingle Bell Bike Ride for Jeykll Authority which ends at the Historic District for the Annual Christmas Tree Lighting Festival. Real snow and many other things to do at the festival, the lights on the Island are really beautiful!
Will be back home Monday, Dec 1st.
Wish all of you a very Happy Thanksgiving!
Next post will be Dec 1st or there abouts.

Today is my birthday!!! ... 76 years young ... just back from trip to Atlanta, Nashville, Tulsa, OK and then back to Statesboro to Ginger's for Monday and Tuesday. Ginger had birthday party luncheon with Mark and Sarah on Tuesday as they were returning from Savannah to Augusta. Tomorrow I leave for a week in Florida... will help George Cheney, Exec. Dir. Florida Freewheelers implement his Horrible Hundred Ride on Sunday 11/16 by helping get things together Friday afternoon and Saturday, then on to Inverness after the ride on Sunday (stopping at two wineries) to stay with Chris Trangas until next Thursday to finish up the planning for the January and February Florida trail Tours.

George helped me this year on my Labor Day weekend and will be back and help me next year by coming to Savannah a few days early and helping do all the logistics for the rest stops. This year we had problems and George will make sure we don't have those problems this year. Speaking of Events, I have someone who is interested in taking over the Event portion of bicycleSAVANNAH, LLC. I am meeting with them in December to discuss the possibilities. It would be nice to sell that portion of the business, do tours exclusively, sell my townhouse and use all the money to buy a small place in the country and put myself out to pasture ..... finally retire.

For my children, please consider giving me cash for my Christmas present this year. My big TV in the living room appears to be going out ... I get a loss of horizontal hold whenever the picture is dark. It usually cost as much to repair as it does to replace and would like to get a larger stereo TV for the living room that is connected to digital cable, my VCR and the CD/Radio Dave and Rick gave me a couple years ago. Your cash Christmas present plus a little for me will get what I want. The largest contribution will get the TV when I pass on ...huh? Oh yea!

Looking forward to Webb being here for Thanksgiving. Liz (Ginger's sister) and Bill (her boyfriend), Webb and Nancy, Mark Albertin, Laurel Albertin, Ginger and I will all be at Ginger's for several days. I will be there Monday. Mark will arrive Monday or Tuesday, Webb Wednesday (don't know about Nancy, but she is welcome anytime), Laurel, Liz and Bill Wednesday. I have the two trails pretty well cut back and ready for walking through the woods to Five Chop Road, the shooting range and Mill Creek. The leaves will all be taken up, the pool will be clean (but too cold to swim at 75 degrees) but with nice weather nice to sit at the pool and take in some sunshine!
Cath, Rick, Ben and Elizabeth will try and come down for the day on Friday ... really looking forward to a GREAT Thanksgiving and wish all my children could come.
Next post will be after my return from Florida.
